Gifted Book Writer Program
Plan, produce, and profit from your ultimate creative project - become a SUPER AUTHOR
Gifted Book Writer is an elite 1-on-1 writing consultation service designed to turn writers into SUPER AUTHORS. Most writing "coaches" focus on a single aspect of the book publishing process - writing. But that's not enough to get a finished book into the world. It certainly doesn't help with SELLING your book. (I've learned this multiple times over).
That's why I created this program. Through guided project milestones, continuous accountability, and rigorous regular feedback you won't just be an author. You'll be someone who understands their creative process and knows how to harness it in multiple forms to express it to the world - a SUPER AUTHOR.
Is this program for you?
This program isn't for anyone. It's only for those who are serious about sharing their specific knowledge, expertise, or story with the world. I've done consulting in the past, made dozens of courses, guides, and materials online for the past 5 years.
What did I learn from that experience?
Most people aren't serious about change. They commit for a day or week until like a fickle fly, they become distracted by the next thing. Sometimes it's out of true interest for the shiny object. But most times it's because they hit significant resistance in their current pursuit.
Insecurity in all forms strikes their heart like a bolt from the heavens. Lack of purpose, direction, skill, or audience causes them to move on to the next project and the next - the pattern repeating itself without end. Has this happened to you?
I've dealt with it in the past. It made me feel like shit. I'd always think: "If I had stuck with X, I'd be at this point by now." I hated that feeling of regret. In 2020, I decided to change.
During the COVID lockdown summer, I decided I was done pulling on strands of potential - it was time to commit to SOMETHING. My choice was Mandarin Chinese. I learned over a thousand characters that summer while taking lessons. It was a period of tremendous personal growth.
That was also when I was putting the finishing touches on the first draft of my military game tech fiction novel "Cereus & Limnic." Finishing takes you places.
How about you?
Do you struggle with finishing what you start?
If so, the regular accountability I've built into "Gifted Book Writer" is for you.
I haven't been a successful creative because all my work is good (just go back and listen to some of my early music or podcasts). What's put me in the top 10% is that I FINISH.
From idea to ending, plan to publish, I've made it to the finish line on dozens of projects of varied length, difficult, and scope.
You might not think that's very impressive, but in creative work it's the most important thing.
Why?
Because only when you FINISH can you:
- Appreciate the final result of your effort
- Get feedback for future similar projects
- Realize the most growth in all skills related to the work
- Include the project in your creative portfolio or resume
- Compare it to similar work (yours or someone else's) to improve next time
- Market and sell the piece to those who might be interested
These valuable rewards don't come from half-finished drafts or abandoned attempts. They also don't hinge on the final quality of the work.
Even if what you made is a piece of garbage in the eyes of the world, you still reap the benefits. The only requirement is to FINISH.
This is one aspect of what I offer in the program. It is my goal to get you to FINISH. You'll get there with my expert guidance and your own willpower.
What do you get?
Up to this point we've discussed what "Gifted Book Writer" will help you overcome. Now let's talk about exactly what you're signing up for.
30 days. Minimum 1 hour per day.
Depending how fast and efficient you are, you'll likely need more time to reach your goal, but we'll take baby steps to get there.
Here's the plan:
Step 1: Dream Session (2 hrs)
We'll discuss everything about your project goals. No idea is too small or stupid.
Some things we can talk through are:
- Why you want to do the project
- How long it will take (estimated)
- What is the end result of the project (a book, monetization, etc.)
- Who is the intended audience
- What tools do you need to bring it to life
The goal at the end of this lengthy session is to record all of your ideas, make sense of them, then determine a firm direction to begin bringing it to life.
I will distill the "Dream Document" into the necessary parts, then provide you with the next step the following day.
Step 2: Chart Course with the Compass (1 hr)
On the next day, we get going with this one hour session where we'll talk about the strategic direction of the project.
I'll provide suggestions, but you steer the ship in the direction you want to go.
Once we've worked together to determine the grand strategy, we'll drill down further into the tactical steps you need to begin taking. This is where things get real and you'll take initial steps to begin transforming what's in your head into something others can experience (exciting!)
You'll leave this session with your first (or first few milestones).
What's a "milestone"?
This is a small goal that leads to larger project completion. It could be something small like "set up a social media account" or "brainstorm a story idea."
Together, we'll decide on an ambitious, yet achievable milestone on each step of the project. (1 to 2 days is a good pace)
Worried you won't know how to complete certain parts of your project?
This is where my experience as a creator comes in. I'll pull examples from my own work, recommend any resources I'm aware of, and provide best practices for each mini goal. This way you won't get stuck at any leg of the journey.
Step 3: Do your milestones (w/Daily check-in emails)
Now comes the meat of the work. Taking each step one by one to begin bringing your project to life. I'll stay in touch via email (or your preferred messaging service) to answer any questions you have about the stage of the process you're in, if you have problems.
The emails are designed to keep you motivated and focused on your goal (Especially on days when life happens and you don't feel like or can't work on it).
Step 4: Complete a Milestone! - Feedback session
After you complete a milestone, we'll have a feedback session. I'll review what you've done and provide a review via email, video, or audio with my recommendations.
You should work to complete the corrections as soon as you can. But you'll have the equivalent length of time that was agreed upon for the initial milestone to complete them.
After we're satisfied with the corrected (or final) output, we'll move on to the next milestone and the next.
We repeat this cycle of milestone -> feedback -> milestone -> feedback until you complete a sub-objective.
Step 5: Sub-objective completion (30 min video session)
What's a sub-objective? It's a collection of milestones that represent a significant accomplishment in the goal of your overall project.
Examples are: "completing your book outline" or "finishing your manuscript"
These are causes to celebrate!
But before you bust out the champagne, we'll talk about how you're feeling about the project up to this point.
Specifically we'll discuss:
- How you felt during this phase of the creative process
- Whether or not you still feel like you're moving in the right direction creatively, strategically, etc.
- Potential next steps
This session should be a clarification of intent for the overall project.
Once we've completed it, what then? You guess it, more milestones! You'll begin working toward another sub-objective toward the completion of the project.
Weekly Live Video Checks
Regardless of whether or not you've completed a sub-objective, I provide 3 live (1 hour) video calls a week.
During these chats, you can ask questions about your project or other creativity-related advice.
You get two emergency video calls
Being stuck and frustrated during a creative project is no fun. What makes it worse is there's nothing online to help you move past the sticking point. You just sit fuming, which makes you want to put down the project. Maybe even quit.
To prevent this from happening, I'm offering two emergency video call meetups as part of the main deal.
Just contact me through the agreed upon channels to request one. Give me 48 hours notice and I'll do my best to accommodate you and help.
Additional emergency calls are available for a la carte purchase.
Step 6: At the end of the 30 days (30 min finish session)
At the of 30 days, we'll conduct a 30 minute end session.
Here we'll talk about you thoughts on your project so far and the next steps you should take to continue your project or finish.
You'll also be able to decide if you want to continue working with me for another 30 days.
If you don't, we'll part ways.
If you do, the cycle begins again.
Who am I?
If you haven't looked around my website, my name is Keith Hayden. I'm a U.S. Air Force veteran and former high school math teacher turned writer and creator.
I started blogging back in 2017 on Medium.
From there I formed my own website, then a YouTube channel, then a Twitter account - and on and on.
I wrote my first book in 2017 and published it two years later. Next came my first novel, then my first podcast in 2020.
2021 was when things began to accelerate. My military game tech fiction novel debuted in January of that year and I began to release a podcast version of it that summer. Later that year was when a shift occurred. I was learning other skills like music production, sound design, and voice acting. None of those things were related to writing. Was I even a writer anymore?
I was, but not really. Little did I know, that through all of my experimentation and dabbling, I had become a SUPER AUTHOR. An artist, entrepreneur who could produce videos, write and publish books, while nurturing a growing online presence. I'd gone full internet-native without even noticing.
Just search online for "keithhayden.net" to see the sheer variety of things I've made since 2021 (it even surprises me sometimes).
Here's a list by the numbers:
- 13 books
- 200+ blog posts
- 400+ graphics
- 90 songs
- 3 apps
- 160+ videos
- 150+ podcast episodes (7 podcasts)
- 4 animations
That's a lot. These skills combined with the extensive research and reading I've done about marketing and copywriting, have turned me into a one man solo studio. I not only write my own books, but I market, publish, and distribute them too.
This is why working with me is a rare opportunity. Few people I know consistently do creative work and advertise it successfully. I want to help you do that with yours.
FAQ
You probably have a few questions about "Gifted Book Writer." I want to help answer as many as possible.
What happens if I miss milestones?
As I mentioned in the beginning, I only want to work with people who sincerely want to create something and share it with the world.
But I also understand how unpredictable life can be at times. If you anticipate you can't meet a milestone just contact me and we can agree to extend it.
However, 3 milestone misses without contact will result in removal from the program. I'll refund you the percentage of the money you paid based on the length of time you had remaining.
(Example: you were removed 15 days in, you'd receive a 50% refund)
How do rights work?
You own all rights to any work you produce while working with me.
I heard you ghostwrite, will you write my book?
I'd consider it. Depends on the type of book you want to write. That would require a separate agreement outside the scope of "Gifted Book Writer."
This program is a "Done With You" consultation service where my role is primarily as an adviser, not a contractor.
Will you publish my book?
I'd consider it. It depends on the subject matter of your book. If it aligns with the values of HAC Publishing it could be an option. This also exceeds the scope of this program and would require a separate agreement.
If you published my book, how would royalties work?
I'd like to avoid legal trappings of royalty payments (at least for now). If you agreed to publish with HAC Publishing, we'd likely come up with a publishing package deal that fairly compensates both of us.
These are all the questions I could think of. If you have more send me an email at keith@hacstudios.xyz
Pricing
One of the reasons I structured this program like this is I didn't want to think to hard about how much it would cost.
Some consultants have complex tiered pricing. Give me this much and I'll only do this, that much you get more stuff.
I don't like this strategy.
The primary reason is because I know when I work with someone, I want them to win. If that's you, I want you to know what I know to ensure victory, not hold effort back behind higher and higher paywalls.
That's why I decided to do it this way. One price, one time, for one creative expert in your corner to guarantee success.
Currently, that price is $1000.
If that seems like too much, you might not understand the true value of what you're getting here. I'll briefly break it down.
You're essentially getting two of the most difficult things to find on the internet for creatives:
- Focused attention on your creative work for a fixed amount of time (when's the last time you paid close attention to something that wasn't family, friends, or work for a month?)
- Professional mentorship from an experienced creator with a proven track record for FINISHING high quality work
In all my time as a creator these two things have been the hardest to get for longer than a few hours at a time online and in person.
Because the sad truth is, nobody cares about your shit unless it makes them money, entertains them, or validates their opinions. And even if what you make hits all of those notes, there are so many other options online, do you think they'll pick yours over an established source?
Likely not.
I learned this lesson the hard way. For years I roamed the online space, falling into all the traps, bleeding thousands of dollars and hours along the path.
Affiliate marketing, social media guru "growthhacking", dozens of half-finished online courses, social media growth cohorts, crypto, AI content tactics - I've tried it all and more.
It's not that all these things were bad, it's that they weren't right for me and my style. And they rarely worked for longer than a month. Do you think I might have learned faster had I gained access to someone with experience, who could steer me toward potentially helpful strategies tailored to MY creative goals?
Of course I could have!
That's what I'm offering here. Access to guidance I and many other fellow creatives wish they had in the increasingly complex landscape of internet creative business.
Because whether you like it or not, the moment you decide to make something then share it online, you're in the business of gathering attention. It's a cutthroat, always on competition. Where your rivals include Netflix, the next creator on the feed, the almighty algorithm, and everything else designed to suck up attention like a Dyson vacuum cleaner.
I had no one to tell me these things when I got started. I certainly didn't have the skills and knowledge to give myself an edge for success. With this program, you can get the upper hand over the millions of other creators setting out on the same path. You take a car; they go on foot - it's that big of a difference.
Will you accept the ride?
I hope you do. Because I know this service is highly undervalued and I plan to raise it to its true worth as I lift other creators out of doubt and into the deliverance of their own creative gifts.
