Working through tedium - Digital Novelist Notes - 2026-02-07

Joey,

How was your week?

Mine was mostly tedium. Grinding the work of day after day. Nothing of note happened with my creative pursuits this week.

But I did gain confidence.

I settled on doing freeCodeCamp to continue my hobby for coding, my drawing is improving, and I'm getting closer to the end of my novel.

Slow and steady has been the key.

What's something you're proud of you made progress on this week?

Let me know in a reply.

-Keith

Excerpt:

Scorch fired back, “Naw nigga, my NiGGA you shoulda seen it, water just lit up like some Cirque de Soleil shit and next thing I know, my black ass is on the shore suckin’ wind. Ya had to be there.” He looked to his oldest brother, “Sun tell im’”
Sun shook his head, “Can't say, I didn't see anything. Musta been knocked out.”
“A well,” Scorch continued, “it was like one a those bullshit Game Genie codes on the Nintendo. You get it once, but never again.”
They all nodded with a smile.
