How to code a form in < 1 hr (CROSS-TRAIN)

Gain new skills to pay the bills

Over time, yraining the same muscles can lead to fatigue and failure.

Elite athletes understand this, that's why they cross-train.

They introduce other types of sports or movements in order to perform active recovery (it also helps to keep training from becoming too dull.)

That's what I'm doing here.

CROSS-TRAIN will be all about expanding your writing skill by exploring other creative mediums.

Up first this month: code.

30 Days of Code

If you look at my creations over the last 6 months, you'll see a hodgepodge of activity.

Blog posts, audio recordings, videos, animations, music: I'm constantly channeling my creative energy into different vehicles.

While this keeps things fresh for me (and you) it makes it difficult to improve in a single area. So I decided to change that.

This month was the first month of what I call my "single-focus secondary skill". (Yeah, still working on the name.)

All it means is I'm exclusively working on one thing that's not writing and Japanese this month. I chose code.

How does it work?

For the entire month, I've been working through the freecodecamp curriculum for 30 minutes a day.

If it seems like 30 minutes isn't a lot of time, you'd be right. However, if you stay committed to the schedule, you can start to see serious progress very fast.

Throw the latest cutting edge AI tools into the mix? Watch the campfire explode into a bonfire.

That's what you'll see here.

In this video, you'll see how I (a non-developer) coded and deployed a functional form that's customized to my podcast.

Even if you don't understand all the tech jargon, use it as inspiration to see what's possible with AI-tech now.

Will you Cross-train with me?

I just moved, so I'm looking for ways to connect with others in my local community.

But I've also been building online for years. I see an opportunity to merge these two realities through CROSS-TRAIN.

Next month's CROSS-TRAIN will keep roaring down the tracks with the freecodecamp curriculum.

Would you be interested in hopping aboard?

If so, let me know in a reply.

The world is changing fast. By growing and learning together, we'll be better equipped to weather in unseen storms headed our way.

Acquiring new skills is a guaranteed way to soften the blow of any downturn and ensure flexibility for you and your loved ones.

Let me know if you're interested.
