Book should have been called "Biography of an Opium-Eater".
It's advertised as a memoir about the author's addiction to opium, however, those parts are only at the beginning and end. Most of it is a rather dull account of a man from an average background who became selectively homeless after deciding to quit school at Oxford.
A colorful account of life in 19th century England from the eyes of the self-proclaimed "Pope" of Opium-Eating, but not very exciting or memorable.
