Character Creation
Characters are the most important part of any story (fiction or non-fiction).
They are the lens through which readers experience your story or scenario, the vehicle carrying them from feeling to suspense or insight – wherever you want to take them.
Your job as an author is to put as much thought as possible into their construction. Play God in the flesh.
But how to do it well?
I’ve made dozens of characters. Most of which resemble me as much as a dog looks like a whale. Jumping into the skin of others has become one of my favorite past times. To learn to do it well is to master one of the vital techniques for telling unforgettable stories.
